Where Every Detail Adds to Your Story
Your Family Doesn’t Need More Vacation Options. You Need the Right One.
The best family vacations aren't just about where you go—they're about what you experience together and the stories you'll still be telling years from now. Tell me a little about your family, what you're dreaming about, and what you want this time together to feel like. From there, I'll help you
More Than a Vacation… A Story Worth Remembering.
THE VACATION PROBLEM
Planning a Family Vacation Should Feel Exciting. So Why Does It Feel So Overwhelming?
You have dozens of tabs open, thousands of reviews to sort through, and more recommendations than you know what to do with.
One person wants adventure. Another wants to relax. The kids want activities. The teenager wants independence. Someone is watching the budget—and one person is quietly carrying the pressure to make everyone happy.
The problem isn’t that your family doesn’t have enough vacation options.
The problem is knowing which experience will actually fit the people taking it.
Most Vacation Planning Begins With the Wrong Question...
Most families begin by asking:
“Where should we go?”
They choose a destination because it is popular, beautiful, affordable, or worked well for someone else. Then they try to make their family fit the vacation.
I believe there is a better way.
Intentional Family Travel begins by asking:
“What does our family need from this time together?”
Once we understand who you are, what matters most, and how you want the trip to feel, we can choose a destination, pace, and experience that fit your family.
Because there is no universally best vacation—only the vacation that is right for your family in this season of your life.

MY PLANNING APPROACH
A Vacation Designed Around Your Family
Once I understand what your family needs, I use my Shared Joy Method to turn those insights into thoughtful vacation decisions.
1. Discover Your Family
We explore how your family enjoys time together, your current season of life, and what has—or hasn’t—worked on previous vacations.
2. Define What You Need
We identify how you want this trip to feel, what matters most, and what would make the experience genuinely worthwhile.
3. Balance the People and Practicalities
We consider different personalities, children’s ages, energy levels, budget, travel tolerance, room needs, and the person carrying the planning load.
4. Find the Right Match
I evaluate the destinations and experiences through the lens of your family—not merely popularity, ratings, or price.
5. Design for Shared Joy
I shape the details to create opportunities for rest, play, discovery, connection, and the imperfect moments that often become the best stories.
WHY THIS MATTERS
A Beautiful Vacation Can Still Be the Wrong Vacation
The resort can be highly rated—and still be too quiet for your active family.
The itinerary can be incredible—and still leave everyone exhausted.
The destination can be perfect for your friend’s family—and completely wrong for yours.
The lowest price is not always the best value. The longest activity list does not guarantee your children will be engaged. And a vacation that looks impressive online will not necessarily give your family what it needs.
My job is not to show you more options.
My job is to understand your family, explain the tradeoffs, and help you confidently choose the experience that fits.
About Me
I Spent Years Helping Families Preserve Their Stories. Now I Help Them Create Them.
Hi, I’m Jackie Stringham—a family travel strategist, storyteller, wife, and mother of four.
Before becoming a travel advisor, I spent more than 15 years as a professional photographer, designer, and visual storyteller. As a Creating Keepsakes Magazine Hall of Fame winner, much of my creative life centered on photographs, memories, and preserving the everyday moments that become part of a family’s history.
That experience changed the way I think about travel.
The photograph itself is rarely what matters most. What matters is what it represents:
“Remember when…”
The inside joke. The unexpected discovery. The thing that went completely wrong. The moment your teenager opened up. The experience everyone still talks about years later.
Today, I use that same understanding of families and stories to help my clients plan travel more intentionally.
I don’t simply ask where you want to go. I want to understand who is going, what you need from the experience, and what kind of story you hope to bring home.
My why for family travel
A Story Worth Telling
Before becoming a travel advisor, I spent more than 15 years as a professional photographer, designer, and visual storyteller.
I was recognized as a Creating Keepsakes Magazine Hall of Fame winner, and much of my creative career centered around photographs, memories, storytelling, and preserving the everyday moments that become part of a family's history.
That experience influences the way I think about travel today.
For years, I helped people preserve their stories.
Today, I want to help families create stories worth preserving.
I understand that the photograph itself isn't ultimately what matters.
It's what the photograph represents:
The moment a parent wishes they could freeze.
